Thursday Morning Mindful Pause: An Interspiritual Practice of Listening & Inner Alignment
This Thursday morning Mindful Pause offers a gentle, interspiritual contemplative practice inspired by the Christian tradition of Lectio Divina and adapted through the Guided Resilience Mindful Pause framework.
We begin by settling the body, mind, and emotions, creating an embodied sense of presence and receptivity. Through mindful awareness and heart-centered breathing, we prepare the inner ground for listening.
In the Think step of the Mindful Pause, a short passage drawn from a variety of wisdom traditions is offered. The passage is read three times, with spacious silence between each reading—allowing meaning to deepen, resonate, and be personally received beyond analysis or effort.
During the Choose step, we linger in silence. Rather than striving for insight, we rest in attentive openness, allowing a simple action, devotion, intention, or way of being to gently arise—something that feels aligned and true for the moment.
This practice is less about seeking answers and more about learning to listen—with the whole self—to what is quietly forming within. Participants leave with a sense of clarity, steadiness, and a personally meaningful orientation for the day ahead.
